1.Allergy & Respiratory Diagnostic services
Spirometry
Spirometry is a standard test to measure how well the lungs are functioning. The test works by measuring airflow into and out of the lungs. The airflow is plotted graphically against volume of air breathed out to know the pattern of lung diseases.Spirometry tests are used to diagnose these conditions:
They also allow to monitor chronic lung conditions to check that the current treatment is improving breathing.Spirometry is often done as part of a group of tests known as pulmonary function tests.
Skin prick test
A skin prick test, also called a puncture or scratch test, checks for immediate allergic reactions to as many as 40 different substances at once. This test is usually done to identify allergies to pollen, mold, pet dander, dust mites and foods. In adults, the test is usually done on the forearm.
Serum Allergy profile/RAST
A Radioallergosorbent test (RAST) is a blood test using radioimmunoassay test to detect specific IgE antibodies, to determine the substances a subject is allergic to. This is different from a skin allergy test, which determines allergy by the reaction of a person’s skin to different substances.
Bronchoprovocation test
This is a challenge test for the airways, done by intentionally exposing your airways to a trigger and using spirometry to measure how sensitive (“hyperresponsive”) the airways are. Airway sensitivity is a sign of asthma. The most common types of challenges arehistamine, methacholine and exercise. Challenge tests are done in specialized facilities that can handle emergencies. Medications are given at the end of the test to open up the airways.
FeNO
A FeNO test or exhaled nitric oxide test, in patients with allergic or eosinophilic asthma, is a way to determine how much lung inflammation is present and how well inhaled steroids are suppressing this inflammation. With allergic or eosinophilic asthma, sometimes you may feel your breathing is fine, but when you measure your exhaled nitric oxide, it may still be significantly elevated, and you might do better in the long-term using slightly more of your inhaled steroid to suppress this inflammation.
Sputum analysis
Sputum has been an important tool to assess the airways. The type of phlegm you produce tells a lot about the nature of your disease.Along with the routine microbiological services, to decide on the existence of infective diseases, we tend to provide the sputum cytology as well, revealing the hidden nature of airway inflammation to make the choice of treatment more accurate and individually tailored.
2.General Pathology,Biochemistry & Microbiology
All routine Biochemical,Pathological and microbiological tests are provided with assurance of quality through Dedicated Technicians and qualified Pathologist.Full Auto analyser,ELISA and CLIA readers and 5 part cell counters are being used for the state of the services.
